Stella Cole Saint Louis reviews
Last night, Stella Cole was not nearly as good as she can be. She looked uptight, almost nervous, and what about that eighties hair style? Her sound too was not the typical Clapton sound. Jeff Beck is a phenomenal guitar player and he demonstrated it again. The setlist was also not the best, Clapton has a huge catalogue and they could have picked better songs. I have been a Clapton fan for over 40 years. I see every show in the metropolitan area and always love it. Clapton acoustic playing gets better and better. Maybe he was intimidated by Beck's presence, but, hey, Clapton is still God! I have all of her recordings and live DVD's and I am very familiar with her sound, and last night it was not as thick and juicy as I am used to hearing. They should scratch Crossroads, any which way they play it, it always sounds diminutive when compared to the '68 S. Francisco version. Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts.
